Custom itineraries for curious travelers
Welcome! I’m Shannon, a travel planner, adventurer, and former organizer of chaos in financial services. I’ve lived and worked abroad and traveled to over 30 countries.
I started Get Uncomfy to bring travel back to what it’s meant to be – meaningful, eye-opening, and a little “uncomfy” (in all the best ways).
We design itineraries for curious travelers who want to go beyond the surface and really connect with the people and places they visit.
Whether you’re too busy to plan your trip or need help navigating the endless options, we craft personalized trips based on your travel comfort level, style, and preferences.

Featured: Jes from Kumarakom, India
Nestled near the ocean, my village instilled in me a profound love for fish and bustling markets. My journey led me from the shores of my hometown to the diverse cuisines of Europe during my engineering studies. While my technical background afforded me the chance to live abroad and pursue a master’s in electronics, my true calling emerged: the culinary arts.
After 5.5 years of European life, I returned home, and destiny introduced me to a friend’s friend. Today, we proudly run a homestay, cooking experience, and tour operator in Kumarakom, a picturesque village embraced by backwaters. Our philosophy is rooted in sustainability, ensuring that every program we conduct benefits the community.
